Roche’s total energy consumption in 2024 reached 8,492 Tera Joules (TJ), a 5.47% decrease compared to 2019 levels.
Nevertheless, consumption has risen for the past three years, with a 2.24% increase in 2024, compared to 2021 levels.
In addition to reducing electricity consumption, one of Roche’s key targets is the use of 100% sustainable electricity at all sites by 2025. It will aid in the company’s sustainable strategy to achieve Net-zero by 2045.
In 2024, the company reported that sustainable electricity made up 86.2% of its total electricity usage.
