San Francisco-based artificial intelligence (AI) solutions company, Viz.ai has launched a Viz 3D CTA feature that “automatically converts computed tomography angiography (CTA) scans into high-resolution, AI-enhanced 3D images for faster and clearer neurovascular visualization”.
The latest feature is “fully integrated” into the Viz.ai platform, with the company noting that the new “capability enables care teams to interact with complex neurovascular anatomy in real-time — automatically removing bone and venous structures to enhance clarity and support time savings in stroke and aneurysm workflows”.
Advantages of Viz 3D CTA
Viz.ai boasts that its Viz 3D CTA solution tackles issues in neurovascular imaging, such as delays caused by manual 3D renderings, restricted spatial context in PACS, and challenges in inspecting smaller or more distal vessel abnormalities. By incorporating automated post-processing, skull-stripped views, and interactive features—including sagittal and axial rotations—Viz 3D CTA provides clinicians with a comprehensive, full-brain overview in just minutes.
Benjamin Alwood, MD, a neurologist at UF Health Jacksonville, stated in a press release: “Viz 3D CTA gives me a clearer, faster view of what’s going on. Being able to rotate the image and see vessels from different angles makes a big difference, especially in tricky areas.”
Adding, “it’s also a great safety net for spotting occlusions that might otherwise be missed. Having this kind of clarity right away helps me make quicker, more confident decisions.”
Last year, Viz.ai partnered with Microsoft to integrate their AI models and care coordination solutions with the Precision Imaging Network, a part of Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare. The partnership aims to provide a comprehensive solution that incorporates more than 48 AI models into clinical workflows and deliver actionable insights to enhance patient outcomes.
