AstraZeneca reported a revenue of USD 54.07 billion for FY 2024. Considering 2019 as the base year, its revenues are up by 122.1% in 2024, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.3%.

The company is exhibiting a continuous downtrend on a year-on-year (YOY) basis in its emission intensity since 2019. The emission intensity has decreased from 252.28 tons CO2e/million USD in 2019 to 111.65 tCO2e/million USD in 2024, a significant decrease of 55.74% reflecting substantial improvement in emission efficiency.

While only a marginal reduction of 1.71% in the total GHG emission was seen during 2019-2024 period, AstraZeneca reduced its emission intensity by half (55.74%) during the same period. This can be attributed to increasing revenues during the period and sustainable production practices. The emission intensity for Scope 1 and 2 is insignificant in comparison to emission intensity for Scope 3 and total emissions.
