Tenon Medical, a California-based medical device company, has completed a strategic asset acquisition of SiVantage’s SImmetry and SImmetry+ technologies.

The acquisition, which transfers critical sacroiliac-specific technologies and intellectual property from Tampa-based SiVantage, aims to accelerate innovation, expand market reach, and deliver a broader range of patient-focused fusion solutions.

The announcement sparked strong investor response, with Tenon’s stock soaring by over 43% at market close on the day of the news (1 August), compared to the market close on the previous day.

Expanding Capabilities And Market Reach

The deal significantly broadens Tenon’s capabilities in the sacropelvic space. The company noted that with this acquisition, it now offers a multiproduct, multi-approach platform tailored to the diverse anatomical needs of patients with SI joint disorders. Unlike many existing solutions that rely on fixation-only methods, Tenon is doubling down on biologic fusion, an approach designed not only to stabilize the joint but to actively promote bone healing and long-term durability.

“The sacropelvic fusion space is evolving very quickly,” said Steve Foster, CEO of Tenon Medical. “This acquisition is a pivotal step in our mission to provide clinicians with innovative solutions that are deeply rooted in clinical and biomechanical evidence.”

The SI joint fusion market is one of the fastest-growing segments in spine and orthopedic surgery, driven by a rising recognition of the SI joint’s role in chronic lower back pain. By acquiring SiVantage’s assets, Tenon is also absorbing talent. Co-founders Wyatt Geist and Nate Grawey join Tenon as Chief Innovations Officer and Chief Commercial Officer, respectively. Geist brings over 100 patents and a history of innovation, while Grawey brings deep industry relationships and commercial insight.

“Tenon’s platform is the perfect fit for SImmetry and the soon-to-launch SImmetry+,” said Grawey. “This combined portfolio delivers what physicians demand, what administrators approve, and what payors value.”

Deal Structure And Strategic Outlook

The transaction involves a modest upfront cash payment and a partial equity issuance, with the majority of consideration tied to future performance milestones. Integration efforts are already underway and are expected to be completed by Q4 2025.

Tenon’s broadened portfolio now spans SI joint fusion, spinal fusion, and deformity adjuncts. These solutions are engineered to promote reliable biologic fusion, offering surgeons more options and patients better outcomes.

“This isn’t just a product acquisition—it’s a strategic evolution,” said Wyatt Geist. “Tenon shares our vision of redefining sacroiliac fusion through ethical collaboration and data-driven innovation.”

“This is a clear statement that Tenon Medical is here not just to compete—but to lead,” concluded Foster.
